Wednesday, May 11th from 11:30-15:30 (CET), 10–15 seats available
There is the
possibility of participating
in an international online event that is based on the "World Climate
Event", part of Climate Interactive, a role play cum simulation. I
will prepare a form to express interest to participate in the event.
Only 15 students will be allowed.
Description of the event
The students take the role of the countries / regions in international climate negotiations (like for the Paris Agreement). They negotiate the contributions of their countries / regions and we will use the C-ROADS tool of Climate Interactive to simulate the effects of their negotiation outcomes on climate change, changes in sea level etc. Please have a look at the Climate Interactive website: https://www.climateinteractive.org/ Please also have a look at this video: https://www.climateinteractive.org/tools/world-climate-simulation/
Here are a number of facts to better grasp what is planned:
* Up to 60-70 participants in total, roughly 15 max per university
* Students do not need prior knowledge on climate change, we will provide preparation material before the event
* Reasonable English skills are required, although the briefing material is available in different languages (see next point)
* Briefing material is available in many languages
* Nuertingen-Geislingen University will organize the event
via an online tool (probably MS-Teams or ZOOM)
